Inflammatory bowel disease create painful symptoms.

Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis- the two main types of inflammatory bowel disease can cause painful symptoms for sufferers.

There is currently no cure for the condition. Irritable bowel disease is a chronic condition, and although it can be well managed and kept under control using medication and sometimes surgery, it is still a lifelong condition.

It is estimated that 80 per cent of those with Crohn’s Disease and 25 per cent of those with Ulcerative Colitis will need surgery.

However, experts from Kings College London have looked at ways to treat abdominal pain for people with the condition.

The found stress management and changes to diet could help ease the symptoms.
