Saving lives by talking about colon cancer

Talking about colon cancer can save lives.

Even in today’s anything-goes world, bowel function is not considered a polite topic of conversation.

Paul Hahn, owner of the Mackinaw Valley Vineyard and Winery, is trying to change that.

Most Saturday nights, when the band takes a break, Hahn gets up on the winery’s stage to tell his story.

Hahn was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in 2012 during his first routine colonoscopy.

At 58, he was eight years past the recommended age for a first colonoscopy.
